EXPO-E, the exhibition of the future is born

25/03/2022

Developed in collaboration with ANCMA (Associazione Nazionale Ciclo Motociclo Accessori, National Association of Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories), EXPO-E will showcase the best of sustainable mobility.

EXPO-E is a traveling exhibition which will follow the 2022 Giro d’Italia. The exhibition is an initiative developed by the organizer of the Corsa Rosa, RCS Sport, in collaboration with ANCMA (National Association of Cycle Motorcycle Accessories). EXPO-E will showcase everything new in sustainable mobility and will promote it by creating a contact between companies and the public, who will be able to attend talks, experience and test the products, including electrically-powered or assisted bikes: one of the pillars of the mobility of tomorrow.

EXPO-E is an event village that will be set up in four cities touched by the 2022 Giro d’Italia and the Giro-E:

  • Catania, Piazza Duomo and Piazza Università, 8-9-10 May
  • Naples, Mostra d’Oltremare, 14 and 15 May
  • Turin, Parco del Valentino, 21 and 22 May
  • Verona, Fiera di Verona, 28 and 29 May

There will be an exhibition area and a test area. Talks from guest speakers will be the heart of this project: institutions, journalists, influencers, top managers, VIPs and ambassadors will take to the stage of the ‘Talk area’ to illustrate projects and unveil new eco-green models. Each talk will be live streamed.

All the resources of Cairo RCS Media, the leading Italian publishing group with 5 TV channels, 5 newspapers, 58 magazines and 17 websites, with a reach of 44 million unique individuals per week and with a database of 9.5 million users will support this project.

EXPO-E will host the start of four stages of the Giro-E (Catania 10 May – Team Presentation only –, Naples 14 May, Turin 21 May, Verona 29 May), the event with electrically-assisted bikes that takes place on the roads of the Giro d’Italia during the race. EXPO-E represents a natural partner for the Giro-E, which has Enel X as its title sponsor and among its aims is to promote the use of electric bikes in everyday life to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and reduce pollution.

Quotes

“EXPO-E is a highly visible and topical event”, explains Paolo Bellino, CEO of RCS Sport. “It is an exhibition dedicated to sustainable mobility, not only for means of transport but also for its components. In recent years, the Giro d’Italia has made great strides forward on the subject of sustainability, launching an important initiative such as the Giro-E, which, now in its fourth edition, has the ambition of being a CO2-neutral event. EXPO-E will take place in four major cities that will be touched by the Giro d’Italia over the weekend and will enjoy the great promotional platform in Italy and around the world that is the Giro d’Italia. I’d like to thank ANCMA for supporting us in this new adventure.”

“This RCS Sport initiative represents an important opportunity for us to promote the use of eBikes”, declares Paolo Magri, president of ANCMA, “and shed a highly qualified spotlight on the excellence that the industry and the supply chain we represent continue to create. EXPO-E promises to be an attractive cultural, promotional and online and offline communication path of great value, which will allow us to successfully meet and involve the general public of enthusiasts and visitors who will flock to each stage.”

“It’s an important investment for RCS Sport, aimed at further enriching the Giro d’Italia platform”, explains Matteo Mursia, commercial director of RCS Sport. “This communication will make the most of the authoritative brands of the publishing group, in addition of course to the Giro d’Italia website, an increasingly multimedia platform that in the month of May alone, during the Giro, attracted an audience of 11 million unique users, with 200 million page views. It will be a great opportunity for the communication and visibility for our partner companies that will be able to enhance their green and sustainable offer”.

“Mobility, but also respect for the environment, clean energy, responsible production and consumption, urban regeneration and smart buildings“, adds Roberto Salvador, director of the Giro-E. “These will be among the many themes that will be proposed by EXPO-E, all consistent with the DNA of the Giro-E”
