The first big news of the Giro-E edition 2023, the fifth in its history, which will take place between 6 and 28 May for a total of 20 stages, is the announcement that the new title sponsor is Enel X Way. The company of the Enel Group dedicated to electric mobility, is the perfect partner for an event that has become the ambassador of sustainable mobility, thanks to its pedal-assisted racing bikes with an electric heart. The Giro-E is the world’s only VIP E-Bike Experience on the roads and days of a Grand Tour as the Giro d’Italia. Enel X Way will also be the Maglia Blu, the one worn by the Giro-E general classification leader. The company has already installed more than 18 thousand charging points for electric vehicles in Italy, representing the largest charging network in the country.
Paolo Bellino, Managing Director and General Manager at RCS Sport: “It is a great pleasure for us to announce that the new title sponsor of Giro-E is Enel X Way. The Enel Group has been accompanying Giro-E since 2019, the year of its first edition. Its values of innovation, sustainability and closeness to the territory are the same that animate RCS Sport and this event in particular, whose 2023 edition promises to be even richer in content and participants”.
Federico Caleno, Head of Italy at Enel X Way: “From this year on, we start with great enthusiasm our partnership with Giro-E, a competition that represents the perfect integration of the spirit of sport and attention to the environment. Electric mobility on two wheels is becoming increasingly popular, both with bicycles and electric scooters and motorbikes. Thanks to the Giro-E, people from different regions will be able to get closer to this reality, witnessing a unique spectacle and getting to know the first-hand technologies and services that Enel X Way is developing to accelerate the growth of electric mobility in the country”.
